Spring Cleaning Week 2: Eating Raw Update (Video)

Kale Smoothie:
4 Leaves of kale (if you freeze them they are easier to blend and they are already cold)
1 cup of fresh Pineapple
1 cup of Rice Milk
Blend blend blend!
Mine was cold enough but you could but of ice or 2 in it if you desire.
This was actually sweet enough for me, but if you need to kick up the sweet factor try some Agave nectar

  1. Hi Theresa,

First, I want to say that I love your blog. It’s provided me with a nice way to understand the language and expression of Dance in a way that I was never able to do before. Reading reviews just didn’t work for me.

I’m so glad that you’re exploring the world of raw eating. I discovered it 2 years ago and managed to lose 50 lbs in the process. Actually, it was a combination of factors that lead to my weight loss which included exercise and portion control. And the look of my skin improved significantly, too. But I thought that might have been attributable to my reduced consumption of white sugar.

I am not a raw foodist, a vegan or a vegetarian. I use these categories to guide my eating, not dictate it. And the fact that I started to FEEL better, and yes, look better too (at least to myself) motivated me to continue.

Please continue to give us updates on your raw journey. I love them. They’re inspiring! And by the way, green smoothies are supposed to be chewed – slowly! Thank you.

  2. Kevin oh Kevin,
I chewed it but I don’t know if I can DOOO it! lol. I did finish it though. I do think that the skin thing is probably a combination of not eating refined white flour and sugar and the fact that you are eating live food. I also agree with you idea about not being categorized, it really is about what makes you feel good, ad for some people they truly need animal protein. Plus you also have to enjoy your life!!! you just want to feel good doing it. Moderation is the key. Thank you for following, spread the word. And you sound like you have an interesting body story, perhaps you would like to share it In Your Words you can send it to theresaruthhoward@mybodymyimage.com (with pics if you like!)
