Our Body Hero of the Week Jean Kilborne has worked tirelessly to raise awareness to some of the negative, misogynistic, sexist, violent, dehumanizing images and messages in advertising. Some are subtle others quite overt and blatant. I thought it would be helpful to post a gallery of some ads that have some of the elements that Kilbourne is talking about. Sometimes as we flip though magazines or sit on buses or subways we glance over them but don’t really “look” or “see” them.
